J. Michael Arrington is the founder and significant shareholder in edgeio. He is probably best known as the editor of TechCrunch. a blog about Web 2.0 products & companies. Growing up in California and Surrey. England. he attended UC Berkeley. but transfered to Claremont McKenna. a college near Los Angeles after his Freshmen year, with a major in economics. After college he went on to law school at Stanford in 1992, and graduated in 1995. After spending a few years as a corporate attorney at O'Melveny & Myers and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. he ran sales and business development at startup RealNames. He was co-founder of Achex. which was sold to First Data Corp for $32 million and is now the back end of Western Union online. Later, he founded and ran two companies in Canada (Zip.ca and Pool.com ), was COO at Razorgator. and worked as a consultant.
